What is a Custom Orthotic?
Custom orthotics are much like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct specific foot imbalance. Orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. Orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole; and have the advantage of being made from precise imprints of your feet with our Footmaxx state of the art Metascan.
Who needs Orthotics?
Many common conditions of the feet, knees, hips and back are caused by poor foot biomechanics. Biomechanics is a science that studies the body’s movements during walking, running and sports. The most common form of bad foot biomechanics is over pronation, which is dropping of the arches and rolling inwards of the feet and ankles. Orthotics correct over pronation and realign the feet and ankles to their neutral position, restoring the natural foot function and biomechanical alignment of the body.
